Business Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 9, 2026
This Business Privacy Policy (“Policy”) explains how Mio Perks (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information provided by Partner businesses (“you” or “Partner”), and how consumer data flows between Mio Perks and Partners. It supplements the general consumer Privacy Policy and the Business Terms & Conditions.
1. Information We Collect from Businesses
When you register and manage a Partner account, we collect:
- Business profile information: Business name, category, description, address, city, state, ZIP code, phone number, email address, and website URL.
- Media assets: Logos and images you upload to represent your business or offers on the Service.
- Account credentials: Email and hashed password for the individual who manages the Partner account.
- Offer and programme data: Details of coupons, discounts, and loyalty programmes you create, including redemption counts and performance metrics.
- Usage data: Log data, IP addresses, and interaction history associated with your Partner account.
2. How We Use Business Information
We use the information collected from Partners to:
- Review and approve your Partner application.
- Display your business profile and offers to consumers on the Service.
- Validate and record coupon and loyalty reward redemptions.
- Provide you with analytics and reporting about your offers’ performance.
- Communicate with you about your account, policy updates, and support requests.
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our Business Terms.
- Comply with legal obligations.
3. Consumer Data — What Businesses May Access
When a consumer redeems one of your offers, Mio Perks may share with you the minimum consumer information necessary to validate that redemption — typically the consumer’s name and a unique redemption reference number.
You may access this limited consumer data only for the purpose of validating and fulfilling the specific deal being redeemed. You may not use, store, sell, or share this data for any other purpose. See the Business Terms & Conditions for the full obligations governing your use of consumer data.
4. Mio Perks as Data Processor vs. Business as Data Controller
For the purposes of applicable data-protection law (including GDPR and CCPA):
- Mio Perks acts as a data controller with respect to consumer personal data that it collects directly from consumers for the purpose of operating the Service.
- Mio Perks acts as a data processor on your behalf when it passes consumer redemption data to you, to the limited extent that such passing is necessary to fulfil your offer.
- You are the data controller with respect to any consumer personal data you subsequently store or process in your own systems. You are solely responsible for ensuring that your processing complies with all applicable data-protection laws.
5. Prohibition on Selling Consumer Data
Mio Perks does not sell any consumer personal data to Partners or to any third party. Partners are likewise strictly prohibited from selling, renting, licensing, or otherwise commercialising consumer personal data they receive through the Service. A breach of this prohibition is a material breach of the Business Terms and will result in immediate termination and may result in legal action.
6. Retention of Business Information
We retain your business profile and account information for as long as your Partner account is active. If your account is terminated (by you or by Mio Perks), we will delete or anonymise your business information within 60 days, except where we are required to retain it by law. Aggregate, anonymised offer performance data may be retained indefinitely for platform analytics.
7. Security
We apply the same technical and organisational security measures to business data as to consumer data, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and regular security reviews. You are responsible for the security of your own systems and for any consumer data you store or process outside of the Mio Perks platform.
8. Third-Party Service Providers
We engage trusted third-party providers (cloud infrastructure, analytics, communication tools) who may process business data on our behalf. These providers are bound by confidentiality obligations and may not use the data for their own independent purposes.
9. Your Rights as a Partner
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your business account data at any time by contacting us at partners@mioperks.com. Deletion requests will be processed within 30 days, subject to legal retention requirements.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Business Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
